The sony KDL40v5100 lcd tv presents good picture quality,but the sound capabilities needs improvement. It has an attractive design and easy to use on screen menus it also performs very good overall.

Even though the TV’s box has a big “Dolby Digital” logo, and marketing specification claim DD, this TV cannot output DD 5.1 audio when using its ATSC or QAM tuner. I don’t know how Sony can get away with this, promising something but not delivering it.
Other than this flaw, the picture quality is great, so I give 3 stars.

We’ve had our Bravia for about a month now, and I am glad we bought it. Images are just a pleasure to watch. I had a little trouble with the setup, but the help available at [...] was all I needed. We have a Wii hooked up to the TV and it works great. Also a DVD, and we have connected a PC to view our vacation photos on the big screen.

The response to channel changing is slow. The design is less innovative than competitors like Samsung. Overall it is a good HDTV and I am happy with this purchase.
