Sometimes when I am watching DVDs on the following television, Sony Bravia 46″ 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV, the screen (movie) gets darker for a few seconds at a time? Someone suggested that it could be the auto contrast enhancement feature. So, we turned it off and it still does it. Here is the link to the tv

We bought a 46″ lcd tv and the hd channels look pretty good but the analog channels are fuzzy. We don’t have alot of hd channels yet so which is better? We have 30 days to decide and we live 75 miles from Best Buy so we don’t want to exchange it for a plasma if it won’t do any good.

When I ordered a 46″ Samsung LCD TV, series 7 TV (LN46A750) from electrozone the salesman offered an upgraded model (LN46A750R1FXZA) which is suppose to include DCDi technology? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Or did I get screwed by agreeing to pay extra for this?
Here’s an updated after I spoke with a manager at electrozone manger:
The DCDi upgrade is a replacement/enhanced card for the HDMI slot on the back of the TV. So if your like me, and only plan to use HDMI for DVD’s (as I have std coaxial cable) this upgrade is not for you. Thankfully I was able to get this upgrade cancelled before the TV shipped.
Also, this upgrade does not change the TV model. The model number change on my electrozone order was only their internal way to know whether to ship the base model or the upgrade model.

Cannot get cable box from the provider. The cable is from Armed Forces Network, over a coax, and of poor quality. I want to buy an AV receiver that will upconvert both the PS3 and Cable input. i want surround sound from the PS3 and a better picture through the cable input to the receiver using HDMI out.

My samsung 46″ lcd tv was hit by lightning and the insurance company wants me to get it repaired.
The repair place told me it was the power supply and it will be around $400 to $500 to get fixed.
My problem is should I fix it or just buy a new one.
The fear is to get it home and 2 months later something else start happening. After working with computers for years I just know that after a computer gets hit with lighting it is never the same.
Would this apply to LCD TV also?
Seeing as how I can get a new one that is better for around $1500 it is a hard decision.
Well the guy just called me and said the main circuit board needs replaced too. The total cost is going to be $850.00.
I agree time to get a new one.

I’m thinking about a new tv…………..what are the pros and cons of LCD & Plasma screens? I heard Plasma’s are actually a little cheaper…why would that be? Isn’t plasma the latest craze?
