How much does it cost to operate a 46 inch hd lcd tv?

My mother always falls asleep with the tv on for hours at a time. How much money does she waste with the electricity? This is just out of curiousity. Thanks for your input guys

If the TV is running while your mom is asleep then it is running approximately at between 250-300W per hour.
to calculate the cost. check the power consumption of the TV. divide this by 1000 and multiply it against cost per kilo watt hour.
or
(TV power consumption)/1000 * cost/kWH = cost
If she falls asleep and leaves the TV on ALL NIGHT LONG…..
$6.00 for an electricity rate of 10 cents per kilowatthour……Every night of the month. All month long….
So that’s actually 20 cents a night…..
