I just bought a Samsung 46″ lcd hdtv from Amazon. Will my husband and I be able to set it up ourselves?
Amazon offers two installation services, both for $110 with the “Preferred Customer” discount coupon. Would it be wise to buy one of these?

its is very easy to install. very easy.
dont get caught out with paying to have it installed… u’ll regret waisting your money.
Yes its very easy, tv will do auto setup.
You need to upgrade your house service to HD channels. The guy who installs the new sat or CATV box will hook things up for you.
If you use an antenna, just hook up the antenna, then use the TV setup menu to tell the television to scan for channels.
Thats about it.
The danger is some install services try to add in a $120 MegaSuper HDMI cable. Buy some HDMI 1.3 cables from http://www.monoprice.com for sub $20 to avoid getting ripped off.
Yes you guys will be able to do it yourselves without paying for someone else to do it.
It is an easy thing to do. The TV will tell you what to do and when to do it.
Just make sure you concentrate on what you are doing and that the TV stores the channels it finds.
After the Auto Scan you will need to delete any fuzzy channels.
You can do this via the Programme Edit menu after the Auto Scan has finished.
Note 1 :
If you experience pictures freezing or breaking up or clicking sounds then you will also need to upgrade the existing antenna which will mean having to call out a professional installer.
Note 2 :
Also concerning your comment on your question about setting up your TV yourself you said you were unsure about the TV being compatible to blu-ray.
You said your TV was 1080p – so it should be blu-ray compatible – just make sure you connect the blu-ray DVD player to the TV using HDMI cables.
