i would suggest the LG 47LH90 which was the editors pick on CNET for LCD tvs. You can get in on amazon for a good price, way cheaper than going to Best Buy to get it.
If this one is too much just try searching on amazon for a different one but this is hands down the best LCD tv you will find.

Good brand and model that I would recommend is Sony BRAVIA S-Series KDL-46S5100 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV or Samsung LN46B550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color.Samsung is more expensive but it come with higher dynamic contrast ratio.
