Wii HD Componet Cables? Do They Work?
I have a 46 inch HDTV and I was just wondering if the Wii HD cables are a good buy or not. I know the Wii only broadcasts in 720p and I wanted to find out if spending $30 for the cables really makes a difference or not. Thanks in advance for your response!!

480p, actually. It DOES make a noticeable difference on an HDTV, but nothing spectacular. Not really an HD picture. It depends on how much of a videophile you are. If you want the very best picture from your Wii, get the Component Video cables. If you couldn’t care less about the difference between 480i and 480p, skip ’em.
no. because the games are in cartoon graphics, so it would barely make a difference. The quality may be affected if you have different kinds of TV’s. So dont get. I work at game stop, so i know!
The Wii only supports 480i and 480p.
480p requires the component video cable.
In terms of video quality, the component video cable will make a huge difference compared to composite and, to a lesser degree, s-video for interlaced 480.
But, you will get the most out of your Wii in terms of picture quality by getting the component video cable and configuring your Wii to output video in 16×9 at 480p.
In short, I would recommend it. However, you can find cables that will work at a better price.
