Any idea on when the KDL-46V3000 will be available… and at what price? Thanks.
In response to Tach3232… I thought the 46V3000 was newer (and therefore better). You are saying that Sony’s new 46V3000 is not as good as its older 46XBR3?

one of the considerations is weight I know Plasma is heavier but by how much, a couple of kilos? 10? 20? any help anyone. thanks I guess the brand wont matter just average weight dfference please

I am looking to buy a new tv and need to know (without a comission chasing sales rep) what the difference is between the two types of tv.
The size is hopefully going to be around 46″ and up to 50″ (inches)
If that makes a difference.

The average person waits to relax in front of their TV after a hard day's work. For many people this relaxation can now proceed to a plasma TV. To decide which of these TVs is better for you will need to see the difference between plasma and LCD televisions.
The main criteria that you should pay attention to is the size of the screen, the thickness of the TV, viewing angle and burn-in. These questions will help you understand the difference between plasma and LCD TV to make a better choice.
The size of the screen you will see that an LCD can vary from 13 inches to 46 inches. This is change, because it is the largest LCD screen size is about to hit the market. For the plasma TV screen size is 32 inches to 60 inches.
Here, the difference between plasma and LCD plasma TV is that it is now larger, but LCD technology is spirited to the large LCD display to reality. For the issue of thickness you will not find too much difference as both LCD televisions and plasma TVs are both products of similar size in thickness. In general, flat-screen televisions are about 1 to 2 inches deep.
This slim style allows you to block or to place your LCD and plasma TVs wherever you want. The other factor is necessary to examine the difference between plasma and LCD is the viewing angle.
LCD TVs generally have a fixed angle of view. This means that once you entered the LCD television on a stand or in a TV hutch you will need to change the physical direction of the TV to see the image.
With a plasma TV you can put your TV in a place where you can see anywhere in the room. For optimal viewing pleasure of your plasma TV you should sit at a reasonable distance, so you see the picture clear, but you will not see individual pixels.
The same goes for LCD televisions, but here there is a slight advantage for LCD televisions because the screen resolution, in terms of pixels is clearer. In an LCD television, you get a beautiful image, just as you would with a plasma television. For this reason, there is the difference between plasma and LCD resolution expires at the end of scale for both TVs.
The difference between plasma and LCD, is not that much when you look at the issues. However, it should be noted that these questions are a means for selecting a plasma TV or LCD.
