My New Hdtv Looking Fuzzy?

ok my parents purchased a new 46 inch samsung lcd hdtv. we hooked it up and everything and the picture looks a lot more fuzzy than are old standard tv we had. we have cox cable and only have the 99 chanels. we didnt get any new cables or anything and i think the chann els we have are standard definition and that might be the casue. what can we do to get hdtv channels or do we need to purchase some hdtv cords? if we do need to get hdtv channels how much more a month will this about cost? anything is appreciated, thank you

Coscto has the Sony KDL46V25L1 and Sharp LC60C46U. How do these compare to the other 46 inch models: Sony KDL46XBR3 or KDL46XBR and Sharp LC46D62U?
